The New Chapter
Balmain hadn't sold its own fragrance for five years. The licence had collapsed in 2017. Pierre Balmain launched his first scent in 1946, but had no presence.
With Estée Lauder signing the new licence and Olivier Rousteing leading the vision personally, the brief was to build Balmain Beauty from scratch.
Instead of selling a scent, we traced the formation of a creator. Why fragrance made sense for Olivier now. What he had learned. What he carried.
The campaign moved through six sequences. The senses awakening, woven with fire imagery, water reflections, and rebirth metaphors. A quiet nod to Olivier's 2020 fire accident, never narrated but always present in the texture of the film.
Released ahead of the September 2024 launch of Les Éternels de Balmain, the eight fragrances that opened the first chapter of Balmain Beauty.
